History of memorial

The memorial began to exist in 1883, when the research of fauna in the area of Skryje was engaged by many professionals and amateurs. In the hotel of Antonín Šindler was created first public exposition, which was later placed at school and subseqently, made available in the building of former savings bank in Skryje. In 1984 it became branch of Museum Rakovník and in 1997 was opened in building of former school.
