About us

The Jesenice Regional Museum was founded in 1959 on the initiative of enthusiasts from the Havana club. Since 1991, it has been a branch of the T. G. M. Rakovník Museum and is housed in a historic bourgeois house from 1840 on the edge of the town square. Its exhibitions present the history of the region from the 10th century, a traditional farmhouse interior, historic crafts, the unique collection of medieval glass rings known as the Tleský Treasure, and a historic pharmacy dating from 1843. The natural history exhibition showcases the rich fauna and flora of the Jesenicko Nature Park and is especially popular with children.
