About us
The T. G. Masaryk Museum in Lány focuses primarily on the life and legacy of the first Czechoslovak president and the era in which he lived. Visitors can admire many unique authentic artifacts, such as Masaryk’s riding outfit, travel trunks, hat, and furniture from his study. The museum is housed in an architecturally interesting former Theresian granary. The barrier-free building also includes an exhibition space as well as a cozy café.
The museum was officially opened on March 7, 2003. It has become the most important branch of the Rakovník Museum, which was renamed the T. G. M. Rakovník Museum, a contributory organization of the Central Bohemian Region, on February 1, 2002.
