About Us
The museum was founded in 1894 on the initiative of the local Reading Society. Today it operates as a branch of the T. G. M. Rakovník Museum and manages an extensive collection comprising thousands of artefacts and books. Visitors can explore two permanent exhibitions: a Celtic exhibition featuring a unique replica of the famous soapstone head of a Celt, and an interactive ethnographic exhibition presenting traditional crafts and food processing. The museum’s professional activities are complemented by regular temporary exhibitions, lectures, workshops for children and families, and other cultural programmes.
