About Us

The Alice G. Masaryk and Czech Red Cross Museum presents the life of T. G. Masaryk’s daughter, who made her mark on Czechoslovak history primarily as the founder of the Czech Red Cross. The house where the museum is located was built by Alice in 1928 for the local branch of the Czechoslovak Red Cross and also housed one of the first mother-and-child counseling centers.

Between 2018 and 2022, the building underwent a complete renovation, resulting in a new modern multimedia exhibition. In addition to exploring the life and achievements of Alice G. Masaryk, the exhibition presents the history of the Red Cross. The building is fully accessible.

The museum’s exterior is adorned with a unique bronze bench – a sculpture of a nursing mother generously loaned to the museum by the artist Lea Vivot.
