About us

The memorial has been housed since 1997 in the former school building (No. 68) and, as a branch of the Rakovník Museum, continues the tradition of Skryje exhibitions from the early 20th century. The main section in the attic is dedicated to the unique paleontological discoveries of Joachim Barrande and the region’s Paleozoic fauna. The ground floor features the ethnographic exhibition “Life in Skryje” and an archaeology exhibition focused on the research of Prof. Durdík from the nearby Týřov Castle. Children will particularly enjoy the opportunity to find their own fossilized trilobite.
